Ted Simroe began his rod-making career at The Leonard Rod Company in the mid to late 1960s. There, he learned Catskill rodbuilding and became the Master Rod Maker. The approximate decade that he led production at Leonard has become revered as the Simroe era of Leonard rods. Following his incumbency at Leonard, Simroe began designing and making carbon/boron blanks for Rodon. This stint lasted another ten years. Once he left Rodon in 1988, Ted Simroe began building his own rods under the TW Simroe-Maker label. Most of these were bamboo rods, very much redolent of his time spent at Leonard. This period is also when we believe our collection of custom composite Simroe rods were made.
A beautifully crafted Ted Simroe B-3108 Custom Fly Rod, measuring 9 feet and rated for a 7-weight line. This custom rod offers a great combination of performance, versatility, and craftsmanship, making it an excellent choice for pursuing larger trout, bass, and other game fish. A distinctive custom rod for the angler who appreciates quality and individuality.
